English Requirement — Set Per Course
At BNU the English requirement varies by course — confirm the exact IELTS/PTE in the Entry requirements section of each official course page. Students who need a Student visa and take IELTS should take IELTS for UKVI. Course-specific scores are marked needs verification until confirmed. BNU also offers the Indian waivers and equivalences below.
Standard XII English Waiver (India)
Accepted if the qualification was studied within 10 years (postgraduate) / 2 years (undergraduate).
Not applicable from these states
Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand — the Standard XII waiver does not apply.
Exception: CBSE and CISCE can still be accepted as waivers even if the applicant is from those regions. Treat as case-by-case — verify per course.
Medium of Instruction (MOI)
BNU accepts a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from a range of institutions if the degree was completed within 10 years of the BNU course start date. Recorded as case-by-case / needs verification — confirm with BNU before applying.
GCSE-Equivalent Grades (India)
For courses that need GCSE-equivalent grades, BNU accepts 50% or above in the subject from Senior Secondary Certificate, Standard XII, or Higher Secondary Certificate.
